We are looking for enthusiastic English-speaking guides to introduce international guests to the fascinating world of sumo, Japan’s national sport. During the tour, you will accompany guests to a sumo stable, where they can observe professional wrestlers during an authentic morning practice session. You will explain the traditions of sumo, training routines, rankings, daily life at the stable, and important viewing etiquette in clear and engaging English. This is a rare opportunity to help international visitors experience the dedication and discipline of professional sumo wrestlers up close. We welcome applicants who are interested in sumo and Japanese culture and enjoy communicating with guests from around the world. Tours are held in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, depending on the sumo calendar and stable availability.
Fluent or highly proficient English Friendly, reliable, and punctual Comfortable guiding international guests Interest in sumo and Japanese culture Able to learn and explain basic sumo rules and traditions Able to reach Ryogoku Kokugikan independently Previous guiding or customer service experience is a plus
